What you learn

A reading, and what it means for the house.

A colour on a test strip tells you very little. The test gives you the numbers, and the explanation of what each one does to your fixtures, your appliances and the taste of the water.

Some water needs a softener. Some needs a filter. Some needs both, and some needs neither. The test is how you find out.

What we measure

Five readings from your own water.

  • 01

    Hardness

The calcium and magnesium behind scale on fixtures and appliances.

  • 02

    Chlorine

Added by the supplier to disinfect, and the usual cause of a chlorine taste or smell.

  • 03

    TDS

Total dissolved solids: the minerals and salts the water is carrying.

  • 04

    pH

A measure of whether the water is acidic or alkaline.

  • 05

    Iron and manganese

Metals found in some water supplies, and a common cause of staining on fixtures.

Questions

About the test

What does the free water test cost?

Nothing. The test is free and carries no obligation, and there is no sales pressure.

What is measured?

Hardness, chlorine, TDS, pH, iron and manganese, along with the mineral content of the water. The readings are explained so you know what each one means for your house.

Do I have to buy a system afterwards?

No. You receive honest answers about your water and a recommendation. What you do next is your decision.

When do I see a price?

After the test. A system is quoted as a fixed price once your water has been tested, never before it.

Next step

Ready when you are.

One short form, no obligation, and a fixed price only after your water has been tested.
